Listing Description
A country Villa estate where rustic meets chic. Here's a destination that offers old-fashioned hospitality for the romantics and adventurous at heart.
Nestled deep in the mountains, your stay holds many treasures in this lovely custom-built Mediterranean Villa. Guests are saying that The Rooftop Garden Luxury Suite reminds them of southern Europe.
If you're eager to discover even more pleasures, we're centrally located between the Historic National Buffalo River, Eureka Springs, and Branson MO.
The Space
Located on 10 privately owned acres, The Rooftop Garden Luxury suite is located at Prominence Homestead of the Ozarks (P.H.O.T.O.). It is named for its location and the people who stay here.
Delightfully quaint, The Rooftop Garden Luxury Suite (where you will stay) occupies the entire second floor of Prominence Homestead and has its own private outside entrance. Your hosts, the homeowners Dean and Angela occupy the first floor.
Showcasing a spacious entire upstairs Villa suite apartment, guests can star gaze on their very own private rooftop garden! This space was designed with Romance in mind! There are several other patios and decks. You'll have access to all of them, a "360° view".
During the summer months they are filled with fragrant, gorgeous flowers! You'll also enjoy a Blackstone griddle (propane provided) and fire-pit (firewood provided).
Having once lived in Europe, Dean and I had the opportunity to visit many different countries. We brought our ideas together as a couple and built a Mediterranean home. The amber plastered interior walls (rich like luscious honey) have the look of a romantic Italian villa (think Tuscany).
The exterior of the house is stucco application, and it is light olive green; a Mediterranean feel was most certainly our intentions!
The Rooftop Garden Luxury Villa suite apartment includes these amenities and much more:
Outside entrance with Keypad
Two queen size beds/ pillow top mattresses
Dresser, electric fireplace for ambiance
Loveseat and matching chair
50-inch Smart TV for you to stream your favorite channels
Kitchenette with stocked coffee bar
Microwave
Mini refrigerator
Convection oven
Electric skillet
Toaster
Full bath with an antique claw tub
Large walk-in shower
There is a workspace off to the side in the Villa suite that has a desk with chair and 100+ books to read during your stay.
The Rooftop Garden's private terrace is huge:
Seats 4-8 people
Sunshade as it sits to the south.
Faces a country organic vegetable and flower garden.
Faces the pond.
Faces the fire-pit with solar lights lit up at night.
There are two other private balconies; they are not as big, but pleasant to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, or an adult beverage while you watch the wildlife, neighboring cows, chickens, dogs, feral cats, hummingbirds, and butterflies!
Guest Access
You can build a fire in the fire-pit down at the pond or the Kiva located in the courtyard. You are welcome to roam the property but stay in the mowed areas of course.
As a side note and to add to your experience while you are here:
While you are here enjoying endless adventures in the Ozarks, you might want to explore how having a homestead or a farmstay vacation rental business can be a lifeline for a more "peaceful and quiet" life. We've found this to be true for us.
Dean and I grow various flowers, grow a garden, raise farm animals for eggs and meat, preserve food using various methods, i.e., canning, freeze-drying, etc., and make home-made soap. We have Elephant garlic running out our ears.
If growing a garden or this lifestyle is something you're interested in, give us a holler while you're here, or better yet, when you book your reservation, let's set up a time to meet so we can show you around.
If you're interested in starting a farmstay business in addition to a homestead, we'd love to collaborate.
A tour of our property is FREE. Just inquire.
Regardless, you're going to love the enchanting Rooftop Garden Luxury Suite! It is "peaceful and relaxing". However, because there are so many things to do in the area, the Historic National Buffalo River, Bull Shoals Lake, Branson Missouri, and Eureka Springs you might just have to venture out.
Come and see. These places are breathtaking and fun to explore!
Other things to note:
When you stay with us you will find that we live 6 tenths of a mile down a gravel road. Our drive is through a pasture and at times gets muddy when it rains and snows. With our guests in mind, we will do our best to keep the mud puddles filled. Oh! and the road may be covered in water once in a while. Not much water, but enough to make you pause. But that just adds to the adventure!
There are no neighbors in front of us, just cows and bales of hay but there are some neighbors behind us. Fortunately, we are nearly in the middle of the 10 acres, so it does give us some privacy.
We do have one RV pad for adult only campers.
When you stay with us you may hear a coyote, bobcat, and barking dogs on occasion. Also, bullfrogs, cats fighting, baby chicks chirping, chickens clucking, roosters crowing, horses neighing, and cows mooing. And we can't forget the hummingbirds and the whippoorwills. It's wonderfully hillbilly country here!
Once or twice a year, there may be a smell from the farmers putting fertilizer on their fields for hay to feed their cattle. It's rural America.
PHOTO is located just off of Scenic 7 Byway
A beautiful mountainous drive, The Rooftop Garden Luxury Suite is just a short distance from Harrison and Bull Shoals Lake where the Scenic 7 Byway ends. If you have a boat, bring it, take it for a spin on the lake. There is plenty of room for you to park it on the property.
Welcome!
If you have any questions about The Rooftop Garden Luxury Suite, please contact Angela on the Portal where you booked or on the contact page.

·
Please put all towels and cloths in the bathroom claw tub when you leave.
·
Leave the beds unmade please with linens on them. This way I can tell what has been slept in.
·
Lock the doors and shut all the windows, and pull the shades closed.
·
And lastly, you can put any dirty dishes in the sink and let them soak in soapy water if you do not wish to wash them. You are our guests!
Security & Doors
When you leave The Rooftop Garden Luxury Suite each day feel free to lock all the doors upstairs and turn off some of the lights.
If it is going to be dark outside when you return, turn on the porch light where you entered. When you return, you will use the keypad with keycode we provided you when you booked.
Kitchen
You are going to find a few goodies in the kitchen! There are some snacks provided on the coffee bar shelf in the 2nd basket.
There is coffee, tea, sweetener, and sugar on the coffee bar with 2 coffee pots. Feel free to use both if you’d like.
There are appliances you can use: electric skillet and blender up under the cabinets, convection oven/air fryer on the counter, toaster, hotplate, and microwave too. All of the directions to them are in the desk drawer in Villa suite study area.
The mini refrigerator has a Britta water filter pitcher and some bottled water in case you are on the go.
The cupboards have spices, salt, and sugar in case you want to cook something.
With that being said, if you’d like, we can provide you with a dozen of complimentary fresh farm eggs. Just ask. You can even cook them on the griddle, electric skillet, or on the hot plate.
All utensils and bowls, etc. are in the cupboards and in drawers under the counters. Feel free to use.
Feel free to wash your dishes. There is a dish rack up under the sink along with liquid soap.
Bedroom/TV/Study
Enjoy those pillowtop mattresses. They are awesome!
Directions to the TV are on the dresser below the TV in a gold dish.
Feel free to read a book or two. And if you just got to have it, let me know and I might just give it to you. I love to read too.
The lighting in the Villa suite:
1. When you enter The Rooftop Garden Villa suite, to the left are the light switches; one is for the porch light the other is a battery-operated light which will give you some light until you get the overhead lights on or lamps on.
2. When facing the beds, the bed on the right also has a ceiling fan and lights above it. It too you will need to pull the cord to get the ceiling fan or the lights to come on. Short cord is for the ceiling fan, long cord is for the lights.
3. And the ceiling fan above the bed on the left. It actually has a light switch on the wall near the bed. It is the second switch. It is labeled fan. You can turn it on or off. The cords work the same though as the other two ceiling fans. Short cord is for the ceiling fan, long cord is for the lights.
4. There are 4 light switches on the wall near the bed. They are labeled: One is for The Rooftop Garden terrace overlooking the country garden, a ceiling fan as already discussed, amber lights for ambiance, and then the rope lights for The Rooftop Garden terrace.
5. We prefer not using the door to the Rooftop Garden terrace near the bed, but use the other door near the study for access. There are light switches there on the wall. One for the Rooftop Garden and another battery-operated light for inside.
Bathroom
The bathroom has plenty of towels and wash cloths.
I have supplied extra toiletry supplies in the cabinet behind the red curtain. I know that sometimes we do forget something from home when we are on vacation and need something right then at that very moment. If this is the case, you are welcome to use what you need. My gift to you.
Enjoy that claw tub and walk-in shower!
Closet
In the closet there are extra blankets and a throw.
Also, a few games.
I have also provided a twin-size blow-up mattress with pump on the top shelf.
There is also a box fan.
There is also a heater.
The other door in the closet is our supply closet. It is locked.
The Rooftop Garden Terrace and Outdoor furniture
When using The Rooftop Garden terrace be sure to be careful to not move the flower pots on the downspout. It is to keep guests from tripping.
Feel free to give the flowers a drink of water if they need it. But if you are here more than 2 days, I will have to come up to water on the second full day. I’ll let you know when.
Rain: When it rains the cushions can be hung on the back of the patio chairs. They will dry quicker this way.
You can use the patio furniture anywhere on the property. Enjoy the spaces! Reflect, write, meditate, and read.
High Roof
There is a sign on The Rooftop Garden terrace on the stairs that is restricting access to the high roof.
This is for your safety.
I know it’s tempting to want to go to the observation deck/high roof, but we would rather you did not. There is a sign too restricting access to the garage roof.
Fire-pit, Kiva, and Blackstone Griddle
There is a fire-pit down at the pond. It does have a grate on it in case you want to grill hot dogs or something.
Please put the fire out with the bucket provided at the fire-pit.
We have wood on the back porch in the courtyard. The Firewood is complimentary!
The Kiva is in the courtyard. Feel free to start a small fire in it. It really is neat lit up in the evening.
On the courtyard porch is the Blackstone griddle and utensils. There are directions on it to make it easier to start. We provide the propane for you.
Smoking
No smoking inside the Villa suite please or on any of the balconies or patios. You could smoke down at the pond though or away from the house.
Heating & Air Conditioning
There is an electric fireplace unit in the apartment for additional heat. Directions are on the fireplace with the remote control for it too.
The thermostat at the bottom of the indoor stairs heats and cools the whole house. We have it 67 in the winter (we have propane heat downstairs) and 70-72 in the summer. If you are hot or cold, please let us know. If we are not here to adjust it or it is a night, feel free to walk down the stairs and adjust. We want you to be comfortable! You are our guest.
Also, there is an electric heater in the closet you can use, and in the winter time one is provided in the bathroom. I know that sometimes a little extra heat is needed.
Trash
If you do need to dispose of a bag of trash because it is overflowing, feel free to bag it up and put it beside the garage in the trash bin behind the wood fence. Otherwise just leave the trash and we’ll take it out when you leave.
More trash bags are in the bottom of the trash cans in the bathroom and in the kitchen.
Supermarkets
Harrison is your best choice on supermarkets, Wal-Mart, Aldi’s, Harps, Cash Savers, and Hudson’s. Aldi’s is generally cheaper.
There are a few convenience stores in Bergman: White Oak Station and Andersons.
Also, a Dollar Store, all are about 3-4 miles away, go back out on highway 7 like you are going to Harrison and it will take you there.
Restaurants & Bars & Liquor Stores
Not many bars in the area, but there are a couple, kind of. Harrison. Tall Grass Bar and Grill and Buckets.
There are many places to eat. Our favorites are Neighbors Mill, Salsa Grill, Brick Oven Pizza, and Jamie’s Local Flavors.
The closest liquor store is in Lead hill. Go back out on hwy. 7 north, turn right. Liquor store is about 10 miles on the right on hwy. 7 north. Harrison is not far, only 12 miles and there a lot of them there.
Local Attractions
If you like to fish or swim, Bull Shoals Lake is about 11 miles on highway 7 North.
If you like the night life or want some entertainment, Branson Missouri is only a 45-minute drive.
Then there is Buffalo River. It is located on highway 7 South about a 30-minute drive. You can hike, kayak, or swim.
